The Arrows had high hopes with 14 returning lettermen, but the only offensive starter was QB Bob Emery. The offense scored in only two games, and their longest play of the season Dave Acuna's 65-yard run against Malabar did not result in a touchdown. The high point of the season was Mark Flood's record kickoff returns of 95 and 91 yards on Parents Night against Coshocton. Mark Gallaway was the MVP. The most outstanding linemen were Dave Patterson on offense and on defense Brad Fast and Bill Smith. The backfield awards went to Bob Emery and Tom Fowler. In the off-season the first "Lift-a-thon" offered a stronger future for the Arrows.
