2025

A year after posting one of the most unforgettable seasons in program history, the Arrows doubled back and stormed the record books in 2025.

Ashland nearly ran the table in the regular season for the second consecutive fall, but lost a classic on the road to Lexington in Week 10, 43-35, that cost them both a 10-0 repeat and another Ohio Cardinal Conference title.

Still, the Arrows plowed through the majority of their opponents at a breakneck pace, averaging a program-record 41.2 points per game and taking nine of their 10 wins by at least 27 points.

As a team, they finished with the second-longest regular-season win streak in AHS history (19 games), posted the sixth season with double-digit wins in team history and earned a Top 10 spot in the final Associated Press state poll for the fifth time in program history (No. 9 in Division II).

Individually, the amount of new team records was staggering, starting with quarterback and two-time first-team All-Ohioan Nathan Bernhard.

The senior established career AHS marks in passing yards (8,817), passing TDs (t-1st, 76), total yards (10,991), total TDs (127), completions (631), attempts (1,006), rushing yards by a QB (2,174), rushing TDs by a QB (51) and consecutive passing attempts without an interception (336).

A Maryland commit, Bernhard threw for 2,878 yards and 31 TDs while being intercepted just twice, and ran for 674 yards and 21 more scores.

Senior linebacker Gunner Lacey - also a two-time first-team All-Ohioan - captured Ashland's career record for tackles (416). His time as an Arrow also featured 72 tackles for loss and 17 sacks, with 99 tackles coming in his final season before committing to play at Ashland University.

Senior wide receiver Gabe Baith nabbed the AHS record for career receptions (177), closing with 2,339 receiving yards and 16 receiving TDs on varsity (66-994-7 as a senior).

Kicker Carson O'Brien - another AU commit - finished his time with 186 kicking points (135/151 on PATs, 17/22 on field goals), while wide receiver Killian O'Brien had a huge junior season (760 yards, 12 TDs receiving; 5 INTs).

Ashland's 56-21 rout of Mount Vernon after a first-round bye (the first year a bye was possible) was its most points ever in a playoff game, but the Arrows fell in heartbreaking fashion a week later at Columbus St. Francis DeSales, when a late jump ball touchdown in the end zone led to a 33-29 defeat.
