2012 Summary
The spirited Arrows were contenders into the 4th quarter of every game. Three losses were to the OCC tri-champs, who were all playoff teams.
MVP Tyson Vogel continued Ashland’s fabled quarterback legacy following in the steps of Taylor Housewright and Marcus Fuller. He passed for 2,745 yds and 21 TDs, while rushing for 688 yds and 14 TDs. His co-MVP, Nick Barker, set the single season receiving record with 1265 yds. Both were two-way performers, and Nick was a special teams yeoman, who was recognized as 1st team All-Ohio as a kicker.
Willie Moore, one of the top all-time tacklers for AHS, led the defense for 3-years. Seth Shakley (best lineman) and Garrett McQuate (deepback) earned the other top defensive awards. Heath Reineke was picked for the Offensive Lineman award. Austin Bouquet received the George Valentine Sportsmanship award.
