The Arrows opened with a stunning 6-0
victory over Shelby for the Whippets only loss of the year. It
broke their 10-game winning streak and was Coach Bill Wilkens
first shutout in six years. MVP Roger Wissler bulled his way 11-yards
for the only TD, and the next week he was injured. Max Messner,
the second best runner, was injured at mid-season during a 7-game
losing streak. In the finale against Galion Wissler kicked two
field goals, rushed for 108 yards, and scored the tying touchdown.
Dan McMillen and Ed Hiller were the outstanding linemen. |
