MVP John Roseboro passed for 5 TDs and scored nine times to account for 14 of the team's 24 touchdowns. End Ron Bechtel caught six touchdown passes for a school receiving record. QB George Glasser and Harold Sprinkle closed out their outstanding careers as co-captains. The Orange and Black beat undefeated Shelby before 4,000 fans at Redwood Stadium for the fifth time in a row. Coach Taylor praised the team effort, but the Roseboro brother's sophomore Jim and senior John led the team. Jim recovered the fumbled opening kickoff and scored three TDs. John ran for one touchdown and passed for the other score to Ron Bechtel 71-yards to take the lead in the 3rd quarter.
