The A's had nine underclass lettermen
and were led by all-league senior linemen Capt. Dick Bear and
center Roger Robert. Their speedy backfield of State track qualifiers
Johnny Matthews and Bill Peck was hampered by a costly injury
to Bob Rybolt. Nevertheless, they upset Bucyrus 15-14 on an Irving
Wiley to "Horse" Bensinger TD pass, which ended a 14-year
drought against the Bucktowners. The Orange and Black ended 2-3
for 5th place in the NCO. |
