The Black and Orange finished last (6th) in the NCO with no
wins. Although the A's had only one league win in three years,
they had six starters returning for the next season. Shelby
was coming off a 55-0 whipping of Willard and celebrating their
Homecoming game, when Coach Barnhart's squad of 25 upset the
Cardinal and Gray. Capt. Howard Grindle kicked the three extra
points for the margin in the splendid 21-20 victory. The first
post-season grid banquet was held in the high school sewing
and dining rooms.
